Charting a Course for Change at REST

As Women's History Month ends, we are thrilled to announce significant leadership changes at our organization, marking a pivotal moment in our commitment to empowering survivors and ending sex trafficking.

These changes align with our new 5-year strategic plan to provide survivor-centered services in the Greater Seattle area, multiplying our impact nationwide through strategic partnerships, and ultimately, walking alongside survivors so that they celebrate one year out of sex trafficking.

Audrey Baedke, a passionate voice and co-founder of our organization, has assumed the role of Director of Training and Partnerships. In her new position, Audrey will leverage her expertise to forge strategic alliances and mobilize organizations, ensuring that survivor-centered approaches remain at the forefront of our mission. Reflecting on her new role, Audrey remarked,

"I am thrilled to continue our organization's vital work to end sex trafficking. By strengthening partnerships and advancing training initiatives, we strengthen collaboration and competency to amplify impact across the nation and create lasting change."

Yasminda Dorrough, who brings a wealth of experience in direct services, will assume the new role of Director of Survivor Services. She will spearhead efforts to provide comprehensive support and resources to survivors in the Greater Seattle area, guiding them towards healing and restoration. Yasminda shared her vision for the future,

"I am committed to ensuring that survivors receive the care and support they deserve to become empowered and gain full autonomy over their life while accessing the tools and resources needed on their journey towards stability. Together with our dedicated team, we will support survivors on their journey to thriving, providing them with the resources, guidance, and encouragement they need to reclaim their lives."

Additionally, she emphasized her dedication to the staff she oversees, recognizing the importance of fostering a supportive and inclusive work environment where team members feel valued and empowered to make a difference in the lives of survivors.

We are also thrilled to announce Lisa O'Dell will serve as our Director of Development. In her expanded role, Lisa will lead fundraising efforts and cultivate strategic partnerships to advance our mission of ending sex trafficking. Lisa expressed her gratitude for the opportunity, saying,

"I am excited to work alongside our incredible team and to partner with everyone in our community in the movement to end sex trafficking. Together, we can make a meaningful impact and ensure that every survivor has access to the necessary resources for their journey towards healing and independence."

As we celebrate these remarkable women and their new roles, we remember the countless trailblazers throughout history who have paved the way for women's leadership and empowerment.

Their dedication and resilience inspire us to continue our mission of expanding pathways of freedom and hope for survivors, embodying the spirit of Women's History Month. Let us honor the contributions of women past and present, and reaffirm our commitment to creating a world where survivors thrive and sex trafficking is eradicated once and for all.
